After 12 years of recognising and rewarding Dutch startups, it was time for the Accenture Innovation Awards to blossom into its own as the Blue Tulip Awards. Our task was to create an ownable visual identity and film to introduce it.
It was important we communicated innovation visually now the instantly identifiable Accenture name was dropped off. And because this visual was going to be used across so many themes and applications, it had to be simple and hold up to different colours and textures.
We started with the tulip design, a surprising challenging of balancing stylisation and form. After landing on a modern yet elegant style and subtle repeat of the leaf and petal, we had our central image. Then came the fun part of creating an animated and aural explosion that takes you through each of the issues-based theme driving the awards: climate, education, finance, health, living & working, mobility, nutrition and security.
This meant a lot of research to ensure our visuals linked up to thematic issues in 2019, while also going a little crazy on the snippets that link it all together.
